Lou lived right around the corner from me.  We went through Halcyon Elementary together, Bancroft Jr. High and SLHS.  We had some fun times.  His sister Cherie was really nice too.  It is sad to know he has passed.

I grew up with Lou and played so many baseball games with him during grammar school summer vacation that you'd have a hard time believing it.   We grew apart during junior high and I did not speak to him much.  The last time I saw him was in 1978 when I was playing softball at Halcyon Park during a group picnic.   Lou game up to me and told me he knew it was me when he saw me batting.   He had a couple of toddler twins with him.   I know he died in 2002 after a long battle with I believe was cerebral palsey.  I have many fond memories of growing up with him.

Quite fitting I log into this site on Easter. Lou, you were my other brother, my next door nieghbor, my friend and playmate. We started school together in kindergarten. We were in each others weddings. You had such a smile and friendly manner. The forts we built. The raft we built from old lumber tossed away in the lumber yard behind our houses. The baseball, street football, basketball games...the arguements...Willie Mays is best..no HANK AARON IS! You told me you became Catholic because of the influence of my dad. Today, you and my dad are in Heaven. When I get there, let's get a game together with the neighbor hood and go to Halcyon park and play all day. Miss you, dave. ( I have had that picture of us holding hands on first day of school on my dresser all these years.)
